Event Description: 31 year old Tanya, was an energetic and ambitious recent graduate of San Francisco State University when she was faced with a debilitating illness. She went from doctor to doctor for answers, all of whom diagnosed her with an array of illnesses and she wasn’t getting any better. After seven long years of hope, dedication and perseverance, Tanya finally found an appropriate doctor and was properly diagnosed with late stage Lyme disease and black mold toxicity. As it turns out, Tanya has a rare genotype that renders her body unable to rid itself of mold toxins. Due to a weakened immune system as a result of seven years of no treatment, her body broke down after being exposed to black mold in her college housing. Over the last two years, her illness has progressed to the point that she is now almost entirely bedridden. Tanya would give anything to be back on her feet and living a normal life. With assistance from family, she has spent over $100,000 in medical bills thus far and will need another $100,000+ in treatment because insurance does not cover Lyme or mold treatment.
