Event Description: Assistance League® of Sierra Foothills presents Inside the Creative Mind-Artists Forum, the second in a Creative Series. Inside the Creative Mind is sponsored by Marshall Medical Center. Assistance League of Sierra Foothills’ on-going creative series will highlight one aspect of the arts each year and feature the talents of well-known artists, authors, musicians, actors, chefs and others that excel in their craft. This year’s event will be held at the Folsom Community Center on October 9, 2014 from 5-8 pm and feature three internationally recognized artists; Gregory Kondos, David Foster and Nina Paladino Caron. Gregory Kondos has won numerous prizes and is recognized as one of the world’s most prominent California landscape artists. David Foster is a world renowned sculptor specializing in marble and bronze. He has studios in both South Lake Tahoe and Italy. Nina Paladino Caron is an internationally recognized glass artist who has exhibited work at the White House Executive Residence, Washington, D.C. and has works on display in the MoMA in New York. Moderating this year’s event is the Assistant Director and Chief Curator of the Crocker Museum, Scott A. Shields. The evening will consist of each artist sharing his/her personal journey, a panel discussion on the creative process, hors d’oeuvres, a no-host wine bar and a raffle featuring art from each guest speaker and other original works of art from local artisans. All proceeds fund the Assistance League’s philanthropic programs, including the signature programs Operation School Bell®, that provides new school clothing for children in need and Sports Locker that contributes scholarships and equipment for youth interested in participating in organized sports but are unable to afford the cost.
