Event Description: Time for New Years resolutions! ! ! Have you and your best hiking-buddy resolved to get out and work off the extra upholstery added during the past winter? Has your doctor and his/her veterinarian said less is better? This event is for you – both. Dogs (well behaved, of course) welcome, too. Debbi Preston, local author and dog-hiking enthusiast, will be discussing the benefits and tips about hiking together. Tips include warnings about other animals, ticks and biting insects. Information regarding the elevation, rattlesnakes, poison oak, trail courtesy, increased temperatures and water sources will be covered. Debbi has written two books on local hiking trails, 48 Dog-Friendly Trails and Dog-Friendly Trails for All Seasons, and will cover them in her presentation. Both books will be available for sale at the event. The Photo Presentation segment will run about an hour with time afterward for Questions and Answers. Under discussion will be year-round hiking choices found throughout El Dorado and surrounding counties. Light human refreshments and doggie cookies and water will be available. Seating is limited.
