Event Description: Music is a Language We All Understand… Join us as we explore the journey of three diverse musicians. Peter Jaffe Multi-talented, “Music Maestro” extraordinaire, currently directing and conducting the Folsom, Auburn and Stockton Symphony Orchestras Gabe Nelson Legendary bass guitarist and vocalist for the multi-platinum rock band “Cake” and songwriter/vocalist of the band Bellygunner Jeremy Briggs Season 6 contestant on THE VOICE-team Shakira Assistance League® of Sierra Foothills presents Inside the Creative Mind-Music is a Language We All Understand, the fourth in its Creative Series. Inside the Creative Mind is sponsored by Marshall Medical and Renasci Homes. Assistance League of Sierra Foothills’ on-going creative series highlights one aspect of the arts each year and features the talents of well-known musicians, artists, authors, chefs, actors, and others that excel in their craft. The goal of the organization is to help children, families and seniors in need in El Dorado County and to bring meaningful cultural events to the community. This year’s event will be held at the Folsom Community Center on September 29, 2016 from 6-9 pm and feature three famed musicians; Peter Jaffe, Gabe Nelson and Jeremy Briggs. Moderating this year’s event is the Sacramento Bee’s music critic, Chris Macias. The evening will consist of each musician sharing his personal journey, a panel discussion on the creative process, hors d’oeuvres, wine/beer bars and a raffle featuring many unique and interesting items. Proceeds fund the Assistance League’s philanthropic programs, including the signature programs Operation School Bell®, that provides new school clothing for children in need and Sports Locker that contributes scholarships and equipment for youth interested in participating in organized sports but are unable to afford the cost.
