Event Description: Mission to Honor is a virtual “trip” to Washington, D.C. to honor our veterans. Mission to Honor is an invitation-only event and is no–cost to any veteran. This special excursion will allow veterans an opportunity to “visit” the National War Memorials without ever having to leave our local area. “Travel” Itinerary • Participants will feel like a traveler on a real airplane trip to Washington, D.C. • We will gather at Foothills Church where travelers will pass through “TSA security” and present their tickets to a airline ticket agent, and then will take their seat. We will watch a special film that takes attendees through the flight to Washington, D.C. and each of our war memorials. • Fellow “passengers” will include active duty and reserve military personnel and a narrator that will act as a tour guide for the “trip”. • Each traveler will have a dedicated guardian who is a fellow veteran that will assist them during the entire event. • Light continental breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided during the “trip”. • Each traveler will receive a Mission to Honor shirt and hat, and commemorative souvenir.
