Event Description: Put On Your Blue Suede Shoes and Step Back Into The Fabulous Fifties as Oak Ridge High School Drama present the Elvis Presley inspired ALL SHOOK UP. Oak Ridge High School Director, Janet Henke, brings you Joe DiPietro’s ALL SHOOK UP performing on the Oak Ridge Theatre Arts stage from October 18th through October 28th, 2012 at 7pm with matinee performances on October 20th and October 27th at 2 p.m. Musical direction by Shaun Manley and Natalie Miller, with choreography arranged by Kimberlie Franklin. Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley, ALL SHOOK UP deals with a small town in the 1950’s in a dreary and narrow-minded state due in part to the recent passing of the Mamie Eisenhower Decency Act. When Chad - “a great lookin’, motorcyclin’, guitar playin’, leather-jacketed roustabout” -rides into town; music ensues, hips shake, girls swoon, love blossoms, and this lifeless little town is all shook up. Theatre goers witness not only the town’s transformation into a place filled with music, love and most of all, acceptance, but also its’ recognition of the injustice of segregation.
