We are a non-profit organization/club at Oak Ridge High School, striving to provide academic materials for students in need all over the world. Any school supplies that are new or barely used would be greatly appreciated. We are also collecting baby supplies, such as diapers and sundries, so any items that are baby-related and new would also be appreciated for our outreach.

Japanese/USA Youth Summits 10/7/2019 - 6/30/2020

El Dorado County Chapter of People to People International is sponsoring two youth summits in the years 2020 & 2022. Next summer, July 25-August 2, 2020 we will host 15 Japanese youths from our Sister City of Warabi, Japan. We are looking for youths, ages 13-17, to participate in the summit and to host a Japanese youth during the summit. The only cost for participants other than hosting (providing meals and accommodations) is that one member of the family needs to join our chapter of People to People - $40/year. Then in the summer of 2022, we will send 15-20 youths to Warabi, Japan who will be hosted by Japanese families and participate in exciting activities. Experience a unique culture! Tickets are $20 online (until 12/31/2019) /$25 at the door Under 12 and under is FREE! New Morning has provided a safety net of services to youth and their families in El Dorado County since 1970. These services include the 24-hour Emergency Youth Shelter (the only one in El Dorado County) for homeless and runaway youth. We have programs to support alcohol and drug treatment for adolescents, counseling, and support for pregnant and parenting teens, and counseling for high-risk youth (youth who are abused, suicidal, experiencing school failure, runaway or thrown out of their home, or engaging in delinquent behavior). All proceeds from the “Battle of the Badges” are used to ensure that the runaway, homeless and in-crises youth in our community have a safe place to stay, get food, clothes, and receive the support of caring professionals. Sponsorships are still available and there is still room for vendors. Space is limited.
