Lunafest” is a program of 7 short films all by, for and about women. This year’s event will be held virtually for 24 hours from 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, Aug.21. The films celebrate unique, touching and inspirational roles of women in local, national and international communities. This year will also feature an on-line auction and a “movie box” with food and wine. Funds raised will be used to support education, especially for women and girls, which includes the club’s annual Live Your Dream Awards. These awards are for women who are the primary breadwinner in the family and are returning to school against steep odds. Funds also support local agencies working to Stop Human Trafficking in the Sacramento and El Dorado County areas. Soroptimist International of CPEDH has volunteered in the community for over 39 years making a difference in the lives of women and girls.
