Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma, California, will come alive on Saturday, July 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Experience what life was like during the California Gold Rush during Living History Day activities. Living history activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the picnic area behind the museum. • Learn what it was like to be a miner in Coloma and what tools were used to find gold. • Visit with the carpenter as he makes items to use in the mines. • Visit with our rope maker and make your own rope. • Learn about the people who were involved in the gold discovery at the millworkers’ cabin • Don’t forget to stop by the blacksmith shop Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park is located in the town of Coloma, 8 miles north of Placerville and 18 miles south of Auburn on Highway 49.
