Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma, California, will come alive on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the picnic area behind the museum. Experience what life was like during the California Gold Rush.

Learn what it was like to be a miner in Coloma and what tools were used to find gold.
Visit the miners’ store to pick up supplies.
Learn how to keep your clothes clean from the laundress.
Have your ore assayed and stake your claim at the claims office.
Visit with the blacksmith as he makes items to use in the mines.
Learn about the people who were involved in the gold discovery at the millworkers’ cabin.

Heart of the Hills Blues Blast is a new event produced by the El Dorado Hills Chamber. The inaugural year will be dedicated to the true American artform - the Blues!

Heart of the Hills Blues Blast will take place on Sat., May 11, 2024, at the beautiful grounds of the Overland District, nestled just above Regal Cinema in Town Center, located at 7000 Rossmore Lane.

A vocalist since the age of 5, Lilian Ghafari has a country/blues/rock sound and sings familiar tunes from different genres while playing her acoustic guitar. Born and raised in Northern California, Lilian graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts and lived in New York City where she performed with her band and worked with Grammy award winning producers. When Lilian isn't in her roles as a marriage and family therapist or as a community leader and advocate, you can find Lilian singing throughout the Sierra Nevada Foothills and greater Sacramento area.
