Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma, California comes alive Saturday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the picnic area behind the museum. Experience what life was like during the California Gold Rush. Visit the miners’ store, the claims office, or the laundress. Learn skills such as coopering and blacksmithing. And don't forget to visit Sutter’s Mill and the Millworkers’ Cabin.

The annual Ducky Derby and BBQ will also be happening. Sponsor a duck and watch as it races through the park in the Miners' Flume. Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last place finishers. Enjoy a BBQ lunch and peruse handmade goods from local vendors. All proceeds benefit educational and restoration efforts in the park.
